Why We Built This Site
California makes some records public while restricting others. San Joaquin County Sheriff maintains booking and Sheriff report channels. Superior Court keeps charges, hearings, and dispositions. California DOJ holds fingerprint-based statewide summaries and offers subject-only record review, not a public name search. CDCR and California Megan's Law serve different statewide needs. We organize the official contacts, request steps, access limits, and fees for those distinct offices.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to any California court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Those limits matter:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing agency, such as the Sheriff, Superior Court, or California Department of Justice, can provide an official record. We can identify the channel, but cannot issue the document.
Search Partners
Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.
